I was sitting at home yesterday, and really fancied something sweet, and cakey, so I decided to whip up a batch of blondies.

As per usual with my recipes, these are seriously simple to make, and so delicious.

100gm white chocolate
100gm unsalted butter
200gm light brown sugar
2 large eggs
110gm plain flour
white chocolate chips

Preheat your oven to 180C and grease and line a brownie pan

Melt your white chocolate and butter in a bowl placed over a pan of simmering water. Once this is melted, set aside to cool a bit.

Beat your eggs and butter until combined, then slowly add your butter/chocolate mixture, mixing to combine (I do this bit by hand, but you can use an electric mixer if you want)

Stir in your flour until combined, then pile in your white chocolate chips. You can actually add anything you like here, raspberries, nuts, but I only had chocolate chips.

Pour your mixture into your prepared pan, and bake for 30-40 minutes. Allow to cool, then cut in to reasonable sized slices.

They are gooey and delicious!

In fact, I think I might go make a cup of tea and eat one right now!

Life Lately - Birthday Time!

I'm back! What a crazy couple of days I've had! It was my birthday on Thursday, so I've been busy with catch ups and dinners.

It started last Monday with lunch for Jesse's birthday (we are born only 6 days apart) we headed in to Fremantle, to The Monk.

Cardamom ice cream sundae

Bush pavlova
Then Wednesday night we held joint drinks at The Classroom (it's a really cool small bar that is decked out like a classroom. The tables are desks, there are games, and books and things, you order your food from the 'canteen') to catch up with friends. It was a really chilled night, not too late, lots of yummy drinks and food! None of which I remembered to get a photo of! But I did get a photo of my brothers playing a game of chess

Thursday (my birthday!) I got up early to go get my new tattoo. It was so lovely, my amazing tattooist had gotten me a card and some chocolates!

Then I spent the rest of the day in my bed playing with my new iPad mini and watching Law & Order SVU. Until my parents picked me up to meet Jesse to go to dinner.

Pol Roger Rose Champagne

We went to Deco at The Raffles. It was so lovely. Looking out over the river, and the food!

this is my favourite photo from the evening. I'm clearly extremely suspicious of whatever Jesse is saying.

Suckling Pig, 4 ways

I forgot to take a picture of my entree, but Mum and I shared a charcuterie plate, then I ate Suckling pig. It was seriously delish.

Dad's Chocolate Fondant

Mum's Pistachio macaron with pistachio ice cream and Persian fairy floss

My Glenfiddich Creme Brulee

I almost ordered 2 desserts, both the brulee (my fav dessert ever) and the macaron. But then Mum ordered the macaron, so I just ate some of hers. Both were absolutely amazing.

Awww. I love this boy.

Then Friday I spent all my birthday money at City Chic. So, prepare for a bucket load of outfit posts coming this week!

Phew, I think I'm all caught up!! Now, I'm spending a few days off work, and relaxing.

Aussie Curves - Pyjamas

I knew that I needed to use my dinosaur onesie for this weeks challenge. I know that you probably couldn't sleep in this, due to the tail, but it is so amazing, I just had to share.

My mum bought it for me as an early birthday gift (2 days till my birthday!) and she gave it to me last time I was at her house.

Naturally I had to put it on straight away. And Dad just had to take pictures of his nearly 29 year old daughter dressed as a dinosaur.

Mum's pup Jemima wanted in on the photo action, also to try and catch my tail.

BUT I LOVE DINOSAURS! This is seriously so warm. I have quite a few onesies, but this is by far the most comfortable. Like I say, totally not practical to wear to bed, but I'm totally going to be rocking this on the couch come winter.

Things I Love Thursday

I'm feeling much better after my little rant yesterday. I had a little bit of anxiety when I was falling asleep, but nothing too bad. Thankfully.

Just a short one this week!

Via Amazon
I want this Blu-Ray collection so hard! It's got some of my very favourite films in it! I really hope they release it here!

Via City Chic

I love these leggings and cardi from City Chic. I actually went in to my local store to buy them the other day, and was seriously disappointed. They had NONE of the recent new stock items. And only a few sizes of the stuff they did have. I didn't want to order online, because I didn't want to pay the $10 shipping. Oh well. Maybe one day I'll get them.

I thought this photo set was just awesome

And, this list of Ron Swanson quotes. I love Parks & Rec!

Finally, this post that Bethany from Arched Eyebrow wrote the other day.

That's it for this week! And, next Thursday is MY BIRTHDAY! woo hoo!

Honest To Blog

This is completely unedited. Straight from my head to this post. I just needed to get it out of my brain. A lot of my work with Neurofeedback is with anxiety, and I know that sometimes to process emotions and situations properly, you need to have them there and you need to feel the feelings, in order to let them go. And this is my way of doing that.

Do you ever get so paralyzed with fear, that you just can’t function? You feel like the walls are closing in, and your hear it going to beat right out of your chest.

I had one of these episodes last night. It came on really suddenly, like a panic attack, and lasted all night and into today. I could not stop my heart racing last night. I was restless, and could not sleep. I didn't sleep. I lay there trying to calm down, and not being able too. I've been having a lot of anxiety over silly things lately, but this was by far the worst it’s been for a long while.

I am not really a religious person, I mean I respect every one's right to believe in whatever and whoever they want to believe in, and I still, don’t know what or who I believe in, but last night I silently prayed to the universe to take this feeling away. To make everything ok.

I am still not feeling right today. I feel anxious. I feel hungry, but the thought of eating makes me feel sick.

I have a terrible fear of ‘getting it wrong’ of doing something incorrect and letting people down. I've been in such awful environments that were quick to place blame and punish, and, as they say, old habits die hard. It’s something I’m trying really really hard to work on. To know that I am not perfect, and I am not living in a perfect world. That I am human, and that I can, and do, make mistakes. And I will continues to make mistakes throughout my life. I am getting better. With people who I trust implicitly, there is no issue anymore. Because I know there is no judgement. But I still struggle with people who I don’t trust or know that well, and even the thought that I might do something wrong, and it will affect them, sends me into such a spin. I’m talking, even mailing something to someone. I’m terrified that I didn't do it right, that I got the address wrong, that the postman will deliver it to the wrong place and I’ll be blamed. Things that are totally and utterly out of my control. And I know they are out of my control. But, I can’t help feeling this way. Even, yesterday, I rang to book my car in for a service, and the place I usually use, will book it in so that they will do it while you wait, if you ask. So I asked this new place, and they flat out refused, telling me they needed it for at least half a day, and it made me feel so dumb for not knowing that. And that is so completely ridiculous, but that's how it was. It worked out ok, because after I calmed down, I realised there were things I could do in that half day, like get my eyes checked, get my hair cut, etc. But there was that moment of sheer panic, 'what the fuck am I going to do?'.

I've come a long way, but I still have a way to go. And, I’m lucky in a lot of ways, that I have the support system, and tools to be able to deal with these anxieties, and that I've realized what they are, and that I don’t want them any more. It’s just hard sometimes to break the cycle.

Life, Lately

I haven't done one of these posts for ages! It's not that there hasn't been a lot going on, it's just that a lot of it has been work. I've changed my days/hours again to be able to have Monday's off with Jesse, so that's been a bit of a transition, but it's all running smoothly and working well.

My new City Chic peplum top. I LOVE it!

Saturday casual with my high waisted New Look shorts. I highly recommend these babies.

I leave the room for 1 minute....

Mum's puppy Jemima gets so excited whenever I'm around. She wanted a snooze on my lap, and decided this was the most comfortable position.

I nearly bought this. But, went with the far more conservative 400g option.

Jesse messaged me on Sunday morning (right after I'd decided what to make for dinner) and said he really fancied ribs. It wasn't what I had decided on, but I never pass up an opportunity to eat ribs. So good.

Yesterdays OOTD. We went to hang out and drink Riesling with some friends. I scored this belt at Kmart. It came in a 2 pack with a black one as well, for something ridiculous like $9.

Walking home Jesse found this scooter on the side of the road.

Delicious Korean beef dish Jesse made for dinner

One of my favourite breakfasts!

This weeks starts the beginning of a very exciting couple of weeks. It's Jesse birthday, my birthday, new tattoo time, and I'm having a couple of days off next week. Plus birthday parties, dinners, catch ups. I'm very excited about it. And I'm totally wearing my tutu dress.

Aussie Curves - Maxi Dress

I actually thought ahead this week! I decided to wear my maxi dress during the week, and I actually remembered to get some photos while I was wearing it.

I saw this dress on ASOS in November, and I placed an order for it, and then changed my mind and cancelled it. The more I thought about it, the more I regretted it, and went back to reorder it. But, of course by that time, my size had sold out. I kept my eye out for other maxi dresses, but none of them did it for me.

Luckily, when I was shopping the sales just after christmas, it had come back in stock. I wasted no time adding it to my cart, and I was so glad that I bought it.

Of course, it was about 6 inchs too long, and I had to get the hem taken up, but I've worn it quite a lot over the summer. It's very comfortable, and I love the colour.

Cardigan - Target (2 years ago)
Shoes - Kmart

I know that this is a dress I'm going to hang on too for a long time!

Things I Love Thursday

Time must be running super fast. I have no idea how it came to be Thursday already! And that it's my birthday in exactly 2 weeks!

Jesse and I went to see Jurassic Park 3D on Monday night. It was so awesome. The 3D made the film so much cooler. I really want to go and watch it again :) And last night we caught up with some friends at their new place, and I'm working late tonight. I tell you, I'm looking forward to spending Friday night curled up on the couch!

It's mostly shoes that I've found this week. I can't stop looking at boots. I love them. I'm trying to decide it I should buy a pair of knee highs from Autograph I've seen. I've always wanted a pair, but now, I just don't know if I would wear them.

Via Only Leggings

I think I mentioned a few posts ago, that I've only just gotten on the legging trend. They are soooo comfortable. I found this website that has AWESOME plus size leggings. And shipping to Aus is only $16. Which I think is pretty reasonable. I'm going to be placing an order very soon!

Via New Look

I really love this New Look t-shirt. The lips are studded.

Via Topshop

There is just something about these Topshop shoes I dig...

Via The Iconic

These gold boots are kinda ugly...but kinda cool at the same time.

Via Boohoo

I ordered a pair of lita type boots, and they've sent me the wrong colour. Not even a wrong colour that I would wear anyway...they sent me brown. gross. I don't do brown. I might have to get the above ones to make up for it.

Via Punk
I really love these Iron Fist shoes. The bows on the ankles are just so cute!

Oh, also I finished reading Hot & Heavy. I REALLY loved it. I could relate to quite a few of the stories in there. I've started a cowboy romance (I have a soft spot for these books) to read as a filler while I'm waiting for some books from Amazon to arrive :)
